The quilters use their creativity in the design of their quilts, usually within the textile and ralli traditions of their area and cultural group. The applique design in this quilt mimics the patterns of ajrak block printing (see inset). Ajrak is a well known fabric style native to Sindh, Pakistan and Kutch, in western Gujarat, India.
