“The Reconciliation Quilt” was made by Lucinda Ward Honstain of Brooklyn, New York in 1867. Imagery created in her unique album quilt, with the likely assistance of her daughter Emma Bingham, highlights the racial, social and economic diversity of the years immediately following the end of the Civil War as well as images of her Brooklyn neighborhood.
