Through the donation of two dozen quilts made in Russia as part of a U.S.-Russia cooperative quiltmaking project in the 1990s and early 2000s, the International Quilt Museum was able to curate Glasnost and Folk Culture: Russian Quilts at the Turn of the 21st Century, in which folk tale imagery and depictions of traditional architecture abounded.
