Commentary by Ardis James: "Sixteen compass blocks, set straight, alternating with plain white elaborately quilted feather circles.  Red, green and pink/orange on white, faded.  Elaborate feathered-flying geese border.  Very good quilting with some stuffing in white blocks.  Small hole in backing.  This quilt was the first one purchased, and therefore the beginning of our collection."
