Ardis could also be brutally honest about her quilts' deficiencies. "Adequate quilting" was a popular phrase for Ardis to use in her cataloging entries, including in the one describing this Album Quilt. For two others, she varied her language slightly, calling the quilting on this Schoolhouse "nothing special" while declaring that its Schoolhouse compatriot had "diagonal quilting of no distinction."
