Curated by Art Quilt Quarterly editor Sandra Sider, New York Nexus presented the work of artists who saw Abstract Design in American Quilts at the Whitney Museum in 1971, early in their careers. Makers such as Michael Cummings, Radka Donnell,  M. Joan Lintault, and Paula Nadelstern all went on to have highly successful quilt practices.
