Patchwork Quilts was a 1976 publication featuring many of the Holstein/van der Hoof quilts that traveled to Tokyo and Kyoto, and was an early Japanese book focused on American quilts. It included images of the antique quilts as well as a detailed how-to section, which likely helped many new quiltmakers get their start. Image courtesy of Bunka Shuppan Kyoku
