This New York Times-featured quilt is quite sophisticated in its overall aesthetic. Looking closer, however, you can discern that the quilting stitches are a little uneven and the machine applied binding is a bit wobbly. People at all levels of craftsmanship can make visually stunning quilts—a lesson learned in many instances from Abstract Design in American Quilts.
