Dramatically dimensional quilts like this are rare; usually, the batting in between the quilt's top and bottom layers is just thick enough to provide warmth and adequate padding for the quilting stitches to create texture. This Puffs quilt is thick in the extreme, but not uniformly; Each "pod" of fabric is individually stuffed, creating an interestingly lumpy surface.
