Both of these peacocks are pre-embroidered appliqués, ready-mades that manufacturers produced to simplify Crazy work. Instead of having to embroider every stitch herself, the maker had only to appliqué the patch down on top of her Crazy patchwork. The bird on the top, part of the famous My Crazy Dream quilt, was attached more expertly than the one on the bottom, whose copious, bright green applique stitches somewhat mar the overall appearance.
