Because Crazy quilts were used as decorative pieces, they often have decorative edges featuring ruffles or scallops. The pink cotton eyelet edging on this quilt nicely sets off the black velvet outer border, which is covered in pink silk rose blossoms and buds and green chenille leaves and stems. There is evidence of the border pattern having been marked.
