With polyester becoming increasingly popular for garment construction in the 1960s and 70s, quilts made from this new material became common, too. This Crazy quilt example appears to be at least partially made from double knit polyester fabrics taken from clothing. Several of the plaid, argyle, and floral prints would have made fashionable suits, sweaters or dresses of the day. Although the maker is unidentified, the quilt is inscribed, "Aunt Beula, Dora, Margie."
