Typical Central Asian patchwork (kurak) patterns (translations in Tajik, unless otherwise noted): 1. Falcon tail (dumaki bosha) or little amulet (tumorcha–Kyrgyz), 2. butterfly (pasha parak) or line of cranes (turna kator–Kyrgyz), 3. bride and mother-in-law (kelinu khushdoman), 4. four eyes (chorgula), 5. cotton (guli guza), 6. key (kalidkurok) or scissors (kaichikurak–Kyrgyz), and 7. star (sitorashavak).
