A unique example of a wedding curtain (shιmιldιq qas), in the Savitsky Karakalpak Art Museum in Nukus was made by Gulzar Yusupova of Shimbai to commemorate the wedding of her son. A devoted Communist party member, she also honored the meeting of the 24th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, by adding text along the top border celebrating both events.
