Antiques dealers George and Susan Delagrange formed Amish Design to hire Amish women to make quilts that looked like those from the early 1900s, supplying the seamstresses with patterns such as this one designed by Susan, and inspired by old Amish quilts. The Delagranges designed patterns drawn directly from old quilts, sourced 100% cotton fabrics—when many Amish preferred using synthetics, and used the colors found on dark quilts when many Amish families preferred lighter colors and printed fabrics.
