Like many quilts produced in the Amish quilt industry Emma designed this quilt, which recalls the Center Diamond quilt pattern made in Lancaster County early in the twentieth century. Five Hmong sisters from Warren, Michigan contributed the blocks of paj ntaub (flower cloth), Lydia Martin pieced it (her mother sewed for Emma’s mother, who started a quilt business in 1959, the first formal quilt enterprise in Lancaster County), Plia Yang marked it, and Effie Peachy and her daughter quilted it.
