The “Old Almanac Quilt” was published as a syndicated pattern series in newspaper throughout the nation in 1932. The St. Louis Star and Times announced the debut of the quilt series in the Nancy Page Quilt Club column this way: “It will be fun to make this Old Almanac Quilt. No matter how many quilts you may have, this one will be the most unique of all. You’ll enjoy following the signs of the Zodiac as you work on it, and when finished you can entertain your friends by reading their horoscopes. Join the Nancy Page Quilt Club Beginning Next Monday on the Woman’s Pages of the St. Louis Star and Times.”
