Provenance that accompanies this embroidered Crazy quilt identifies it as a 50th birthday gift to Frances Willard, who was elected as the second president of the WCTU in 1879, and served for nearly twenty years. Frances’s mother, Mary Willard, made the quilt, inscribing it with inspirational scripture passages.
