Formal and informal groups make quilts for causes today. Regular quilting groupsand quilting bees sometimes dedicate a special day to making quilts for a particular cause. The group pictured here has made quilts for hospice patients, for national charitable quilt organizations, for families who lost their homes due to an explosion at a chemical plant in West, Texas, for tornado victims in Joplin, Missouri, and many others.
