Terrie Hancock Mangat has brought two things to the forefront in her quiltmaking. Like Jean Ray Laury, she was trained as an artist. Mangat was one of the first studio quiltmakers to use elaborate embellishment in her artwork. She also creates highly personal pieces incorporating commentary through imagery pulled from everyday life, religion, and the cultures around her.
