Charity and quilts for a cause groups use the internet to share information, facilitate discussion, and encourage participation. Home of the Brave Quilt Project started as a service project of the Citrus Belt Quilt Guild to honor twelve California soldiers killed in action.  The coordinator, Don Beld, realized the project had filled a need for members of his guild, so he posted an announcement on the Quilt History List, an online discussion group. Beld’s local group became national with chapters in virtually every state. Chapter leaders made this quilt for Beld to honor his commitment and vision.
