During the 20th century, quilts and the quilting process entered common parlance as a symbol and metaphor for any group of individual pieces assembled together to make a beautiful whole. As part of “Fifty Two Acts,” (with the tagline: 52 weeks, 52 acts of cyberfeminist creativity) Flickr user sajbrfem compiled a virtual patchwork quilt using Creative Commons licensed flickr photos tagged with the word "feminist."
