Artist Michael James chose quilts as his medium in the 1970s. James began experimenting with digitally fabricated textiles in 2002 to expand the possibilities of his art. He created Interference Effect from a variety of different fabrics that he had from processed digital photographs to software-generated patterns. He then printed fabric using a digital printer and fiber reactive dyes.
