Over the last forty years, as as a result of the women’s movement and state and regional documentation projects encouraging families to preserve information about their heirlooms, more and more quiltowners and quiltmakers are labeling their quilts. Using printable fabric and an ink jet printer, the family was able to preserve her history and that of the quilt on this label sewn onto the back of the quilt next to the documentation project registry information.
