Caohagan is a privately owned island in the Philippines with a population of 266. Its Japanese owner and his wife purchased and moved to the island in 1991 and started a cottage industry for islanders to make and sell quilts for extra income. Nene, the maker of this quilt, was inspired by imagery surrounding her on her West Pacific island.
