According to family history, Elsie Kosch Weis of Humphrey, Nebraska, stitched and beaded this quilt while she waited for her future husband to come calling. The ladies of the parish of St. Francis in Humphrey quilted the quilt. The family’s story did not confirm that Weis ever married or that this quilt was used on her marriage bed.
