Members of the Lincoln Quilters Guild designed and made Nebraska is America in 1976 with the natural colors of Nebraskan and American landscapes. The medallion layout of this quilt is unusual when compared to the more standard albums of other group Bicentennial quilts. The quilt is rife with symbolism from the color scheme to the quilted Bicentennial stars inside a lattice modeled after the ceiling of the Nebraska Supreme Court room. The quilting in the wide rust border includes images associated with Nebraska history, commerce, and agriculture.
