The slim exhibition catalog for Abstract Design in American Quilts featured this graphic quilt on its cover, which Holstein and van der Hoof identified as visually similar to work by Kenneth Noland and other Color Field painters. This Rainbow quilt, as Holstein and van der Hoof called it, was typical of the highly graphic quilts in the exhibit.
