Anna Williams made her first quilt from scraps when she was nine. Making quilts her entire life, she came to the attention of Katherine Watts whose quilt shop she cleaned in the 1970s. Watts introduced Williams to quilt artist Nancy Crow.  Williams’ work was featured at the 1990 Quilt Surface Design Symposium. Viewers were impressed with her work and attracted to what they called her singular aesthetic. She continues to work with scraps of fabric, creating work often referred to as visually complex, vibrant, and powerful.
