Nancy Crow’s quiltmaking advanced strip piecing techniques in the 1970s and 1980s. Her early quilts are reflective of the symmetrical design of traditional quilts, updated with her use of color theory. Crow showed Crosses at the Ohio Patchwork ‘76 show organized by Penny McMorris. Ohio Patchwork was one of the first shows to exhibit art quilts and traditional quilts in the same venue.
