The Kansas City Star’s 1934 pattern in honor of FDR’s birthday on January 30 called on quilters to “Mark Current Events in Your Quilts” and featured a block commemorating Warm Springs, the natural springs site in Georgia, home to the “Little White House,” where Roosevelt frequently spent time to treat his paralysis from polio.
