This Crazy quilt is edged with a multi-colored braid with tassels in blue, pink and cream. The detail shows the edge of the central German heraldic motif, which has an eagle as well as two flags representing the German Empire and the Second Reich. The beautiful embroidery shows a keen sense of design, not only following the edges of the patches, but also filling the patches with a variety of patterns some of which pick out details in the brocades.
