Louise Howey began quilting in the 1970s and became the first president of the Lincoln Quilter’s Guild in 1973.  She promoted quiltmaking during the 1980s and 1990s.  Her quilts of the 1970s show the influence of 19th-century album styles and early 20th-century motifs (see the colonial lady in bottom right corner).
