In this detail of the professionally made broderie de Marseille quilt, the crossed ‘L’s intertwined with ‘M’ and ‘A’ in the central monogram could very likely refer to Louis XV’s father, the duke of Burgundy, who used crossed ‘L’s in his monogram, and Louis’s mother, Marie-Adelaide.
