This memorial image of a grave marker comes from a quilt more often associated with friendship. The quilt, made to honor Ann Rhees’ dedication to the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia, includes inscriptions of well-wishes, scriptural passages, and gratitude for her service, in addition to this drawing of a gravestone. This block as well as another feature a different type of message—they honor the memories of those who have already passed.
