“Watermark ‘H’ Hotel” is one in a series of quilts by artists Gayle Fraas and Duncan Slade featuring fabrics created by digital printing with fiber-reactive dyes. The artists used digital tools for both the design process and production of the entire series, started in 2000.  According to their artist statement, “the designs were assembled on a computer monitor from original drawings and paintings executed in our studio.” They used commercial printers for printing the fabric. Professional quilters machine-quilted each piece in the series according to Fraas and Slade’s specifications.
