Before great numbers of Americans began to embrace quilts during the revival, individuals like Jean Ray Laury made quilts. In the 1960s she published quilt patterns in women’s magazines, eventually writing several successful how-to book that those who discovered quilts in the 1970s turned to for inspiration.
