This imaginative appliqué quilt top presents a variety of figures engaged in conversation, flight, musical performance, and who knows what else. Some African American quiltmakers integrate narrative elements into quilts, as do members of other ethnic and racial groups. Although the quiltmaker is African American, the characters appear to be a variety of ethnicities.
